Hoverboard Wheel Size – Why it’s important?

The newest trend in self-propelled transportation is a hoverboard. Some refer to it as a Segway board, while others refer to it as a self-balancing electric scooter. Consider it a hoverboard to keep things simple. It is a two-wheeled vehicle that you may stand on to move. It is electric and runs on batteries that can be recharged. Its wheels come in different sizes such as – 6.5-6.7 inches, 7-8 inches, and 10 inches. So, which one is ideal for you?

6.5-6.7-inch wheels

The difference in the tiny size, which is between 6.5 and 6.7 inches, is barely perceptible to the unaided eye. The small hoverboards that are for sale on the market weigh between 10-12 kgs. Their top speed ranges from 12 to 18 mph. They can travel for a range of 10 to 12 miles on some models and 11 to 16 miles on other types after charging for approximately 1 to 2 hours. These miniature hoverboards are available in both basic and multicoloured colours. These diminutive models can support up to 100 kgs, so anyone under that weight can use them. The maximum weight that certain small hoverboard models can support is 150 kgs. This size is the optimum for both genders. It supports the usual weight range and is lightweight. It is only useful for indoor use, though.

7–8-inch wheels

Hoverboards in the 7-8-inch size range are the second most popular type. They weigh between 10-15 kgs. They have a maximum speed that is comparable to the small-wheel variants, hovering around 12 mph. There are some variants, though, that can only go 15 mph. They frequently require more time to charge, but some models have charge durations that are comparable to hoverboards with small wheels. An average charge takes two to three hours. These models have a range of 12 miles, and the better ones have a range of 15 miles each charge. This type is suggested for those looking for outdoor use. The right model can be chosen based on the distance needed. It is definitely the option for people who are heavier.

10-inch wheels

Due of their large size, these models are not particularly popular. They weigh between 15 and 18 kg, which is comparable to most 8-inch models. however, it’s usual to come across those who weigh 20 kg. They are sturdy and capable of supporting at least 150 kg. Inflatable tyres are included with the 10-inch version. When cycling on gravel surfaces and on grass this kind of hoverboard wheels are preferable. Different riding styles can be used to make up for discrepancies in larger wheel sizes. There are silent riding techniques that are slower but have greater handling. As an alternative, you can choose a hard mode, which offers less comfort but offers excellent take-off speed. As you gain experience, you will frequently choose the hard option, whereas beginners who are still perfecting their balance and timing for getting on and off the large 10-inch hoverboard should stick with the gentle mode.
